From time immemorial Army has been very active with its welfare activities. One of the major welfare activities, being educational needs of its personnel. For this purpose Army Welfare Education Society was founded in 1983. Today, about 130 Army Schools have been established and running successfully across the country.
Army Public School has a glorious history. This school started on 27 Jun 1981 in the premises of the erstwhile Andhra Sub Area K.G. and Primary School. Pupil, furniture, funds and buildings of Andhra subarea School were transferred to Army Public School. The first batch of class X students appeared for the AISSE in 1986. The first batch of class XII students (Science Stream) appeared for AISSCE in 1991. The Commerce Stream was started with effect from 01 Jul 1996. The first batch of class XII students Commerce Stream appeared for AISSCE in 1998. Today it boasts of being one of the best educational institutions in the country nurturing and moulding the young minds and talents.
